Fall Lecture Series First Event
Monday, October 16th, 7:00 PM
Quail Creek Madera Clubhouse
Sky Island Botanist Carianne Campbell

The Friends of Madera Canyon Fall Lecture series begins again this October at the Madera Clubhouse in Quail Creek, 2055 E. Quail Crossing Blvd.

Our guest speaker is Carianne Campbell, the Restoration Director for the Sky Island Alliance. Her presentation topic is Bi-National Conservation in the Sky Islands. She is a widely regarded botanist who has led many multi-agency groups in efforts to restore, repair and maintain plants, flowers and habitat in many areas of the Sky Islands of southern Arizona. She was the lead person on the multi-organization group, with Friends of Madera Canyon, USFS, Sky Island Alliance and the Borderlands Restoration group, that did the revegetation along the new two-lane bridges and roads in upper Madera Canyon last year.

A driving force for Carrianne is helping other outdoor and environmental enthusiasts to improve and maintain the ecological management of our unique Sky Islands. She will describe some of the work done in Madera Canyon and in other areas in our Sky Island chain.

Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at the door on the night of the event or in advance at the concierge desk at Madera Clubhouse in Quail Creek. We hope you join us in learning more about the ecology of our beautiful region. Tickets also support the Friends of Madera Canyon.
